Elegant communication isn’t just about saying the right thing—it’s about saying it with intention, presence, and grace.
In my work as a coach, trainer, and organizational psychologist, I’ve seen how truly transformative communication rests on three foundational pillars: Purpose, Be (P)resent, and Process. I call them the “3 Ps”—a simple yet profound framework for elevating how we connect with ourselves and with others.
Purpose
Every message begins with a motive. Whether we’re offering feedback, asking for help, or sharing a vision, our words carry intention. Purpose brings integrity to our voice and clarity to our message.
Be (P)resent
Presence is more than just being physically there—it’s about being emotionally, mentally, and spiritually attuned. When we’re present, we listen deeply, respond thoughtfully, and create space for genuine connection.
Process
Communication becomes elegant when we understand personality and preferred ways to connect, as shown in Dr. Taibi Kahler’s Process Communication Model (PCM). This helps us change how we speak to connect better, avoid misunderstandings, and respond well to changes in mood or attention. Process turns every interaction into a chance for clear, caring connection.
In my next few posts, we’ll explore each of these pillars in depth and look at how they can transform your communication—whether you're leading a team, navigating conflict, or simply seeking deeper connection.
